Reliable second generation tuning chip for e-bikes with Bosch motors.

SpeedBox 2.0 tuning chip enables you to suppress the speed limiter on your electric bike. After the chip is installed, your e-bike’s display will show real data, such as maximum and average speeds, daily mileage and cruising range.

How does SpeedBox 2.0 work?

The tuning kit can be activated directly on your bike’s display.  After pressing the WALK button, a value of 9.9 km/h (6.2 mph) is displayed and from now on you will be able to ride at a speed of 40 km/h, 50 km/h and even more than 60 km/h.

To deactivate the tuning kit, press the WALK button again. The value of 2.5 km/h (1.6 mph) will appear on your display and the speed limit will reset to 25 km/h. Your e-bike will then work the same as before installation of the chip.

SpeedBox was also designed for e-bikes that do not have a classic control unit with Walk button. In this case you can just use the combination of + - + -  buttons and SpeedBox will be activated. You can easily deactivate SpeedBox in the same way.

When connecting the SpeedBox chip to an e-bike you will find connectors colored to make installation very simple. We have prepared detailed instructions and videos to make installation easy for you. Disassembly of our tuning chip is just as easy. If you have any troubles with installation or disassembly, do not hesitate to contact us.

If you are planning to install SpeedBox on a brand-new bike, make sure you ride it for at least 1 km before the chip is activated.

I purchased speed box 2 for my 2019 trek powerfly with Bosch performance cx line, connecting the cables was no issue ,and when when pressing walk mode I get the 6 mph on the display ,but when I try and pedal I get error code 503 and no drive from the motor.Bike runs fine again when the box is removed .Checked magnet position and that is also correct.

Please try to uninstall SpeedBox and install it back again. Bad contact between connectors can cause 503 error code.

I tried to install the Bosch Speedbox 2, and it went well to plug in the Big 4 pin header. But when I then tried to plug in the small 2 pin connector from the speedbox into my Bosch Performance Line Gen3 engine, it did not fit.
When I then compared the two headers, I saw that the original header from the Bosch engine was slightly different from the one in the speedbox. The speedbox one had 2 notches, the Bosch original one only 1 notch.

Did I have to buy the speedbox 3? Does that one have a different header for the 2 pin connector?

Hi John, please send me some photos to, I'll help you through this.

I installed the Speedbox 2 using the 4-pin display connector and the connector on the far right (of 4) that was grey (details below).

1. Blue block - 2 cables, 1 red, 1 black.
2. Black block - 4 cables, 1 black,1 yellow, 1 green, 1 red. OK
3. Black block with orange cover - 2 cables, 1 red, 1 black.
4. Grey block with orange cover - 2 cables, 1 red, 1 black. OK

Everything seems ok, with it off, bike works normally, limited to 25km/h. When I turn it on, the 9.9 appears on the display, and everything is normal up to 25km/h. Above 25km/h the speed display jumps around erratically and the motor cuts in and out. The display is reading random numbers above 25; 87 then 64 then 42, then back to 80’s, drop below 25km/h and it returns to normal. Press the WALK button again, 2.5 appears and it’s all normal.

So the question is, what wrong with it? Why is the speed display jumping around like crazy when the Speedbox is activated?

Your Specs say "This product in not compatible with Performance Line CX 2020 motors!" In this discussion there are answers that it will work.
Will this work on Bosch Performance Line CX, 250 Watt (MY20) (New TREK Powerfully 5 2020)

Hi, I have a new (2019) TREK Powerfly 5 with Bosch Performance Line CX motor.
I have exposed the cable blocks for the wiring.
There are 4 connector blocks in a row, but I don't know which ones I should be using.
The connector with 4 cables is obviously correct, but there are three other, each with 2 cables, all of them are 1 black, 1 red.
From left to right they are :-
1. Blue block - 2 cables, 1 red, 1 black.
2. Black block - 4 cables, 1 black,1 yellow, 1 green, 1 red. OK
3. Black block with orange cover - 2 cables, 1 red, 1 black.
4. Grey block with orange cover - 2 cables, 1 red, 1 black.

Out of blocks 1, 3 and 4 can you tell me which one I should use please?
