SpeedBox for Giant 2017-2018 is a revolutionary process-control module which suppresses the speed limiter of your electric bike.
The display will show the actual speed, also other data such as maximum speed, average speed, daily distance travelled and range are correctly displayed.

If you have a new bike which hasn't been ridden at all, you must ride it at least 1 or 2 kilometers before you install the SpeedBox tuning kit.

The SpeedBox tuning kit is activated by briefly pressing the WALK button, which is located at the front of the control panel. After pressing this button, the current speed of 9.9 km/h will be displayed on the control panel for about 3 seconds. This confirms that the SpeedBox  tuning kit has been activated, and the supplementary assistance of your electric motor now works up to a speed of 99 km/h.

When the WALK button is pressed again, the current speed of 2.5 km/h will be displayed. This confirms that the SpeedBox tuning kit has been deactivated, and everything will work as if the speedbox had never been installed. The supplementary assistance of your electric bike now works up to its original speed limit of 25 km/h.

Ricardo Amezquita 05. 01. 2019, 07:32

Hello,

I just received and installed ny speedbox 2 on my Giant thoughroad e 2018 (yamaha syncdrive sport) which is limited to 20 mph. I have two questions.

1. The install went fine altough a nut full of grease (green) dropped from somewhere, I couldn't find where did it came from so I didn't put it back (it dropped when I had the motor hanging from the rear bolt. Any ideas?

2. When I press walt button it shows 6,1 mph (which is equivalent to 9.9 kmh) and when I press again it shows 1,5 mph (equivalent to 2.4 kmh). Is it restricting it below the original 20 mph?

3. I dont feel too much the help after 20 mph, but there is definatetly some help that takes me to around 22mph, is that it?

Thank you

Hello Ricardo,

1 - Never heard of it. Ask your seller.

2 - This causes your display set to mph. Everything's ok. 1.5 - SB2 deactivated / 6.1. SB2 activated

3 - Restriction in Europe is 25 kph (16 mph). SpeedBox2 for Giant allows you to ride up to 55 kph (34 mph). I think you should be able to reach like 38 kph (24 mph) with original front sprocket. To reach higher speed, please let your mechanic change your front sprocket for different one with more teeth. Then you'll be able to reach the maximum from your eBike. Now you're just pchysically not able to ride that fast because of the sprocket.

Will this device work for my Giant Road-E+1 2017 model? And what is the difference between the Speedbox 2 and the Speedbox Premium?
